A classic ride that’s short, sharp, and seriously thrilling.
If you walk through the Magic Land zone of Everland, you’ll spot a massive pirate ship swinging back and forth in the distance. That’s “Columbus Adventure,” one of the park’s most iconic attractions. With its giant swinging motion and ocean-themed design, it feels like you’re sailing through a storm—minus the water, of course.
The ride is a classic Viking-style attraction. You board a large ship that starts off gently swaying side to side. But it doesn’t stay gentle for long. Soon, it gains speed and soars nearly vertically, giving you that stomach-dropping feeling right before it swings back down. You won’t go all the way upside down, but it definitely gets steep enough to make your heart race.
The ride itself is relatively short—about two to three minutes—but it’s packed with thrills. The sensation of floating mid-air as the ship hits its peak is unforgettable. Where you sit also makes a difference: the front offers a more open view and feels a little less intense, while the back gives you the full force of the swing and a stronger feeling of lift. If you're into thrills, the back row is where it’s at.
To ride, you’ll need to be at least 110 cm tall. Technically younger kids can go on it, but most riders are teens and older. If you tend to get motion sickness, it’s a good idea to check how you're feeling beforehand—definitely not recommended right after a big meal.
The wait time is usually pretty manageable. Compared to other major rides in the park, Columbus Adventure moves quickly. On average, you might wait 20 to 30 minutes, and often even less on weekdays or during off-peak seasons. That’s one of the reasons it's such a popular choice—you get a short but intense thrill without spending hours in line.
All in all, Columbus Adventure is a great pick if you’re looking for something exciting but don’t want to commit to a full-on roller coaster. It’s all about that feeling of rising, floating, and dropping—and for a lot of people, that’s more than enough to get their adrenaline going. The ship may not take you around the world like Columbus, but it will definitely take you for a ride you won’t forget.
