Where Laughter Echoes Louder Than the Rides

A Place That’s Supposed to Be a Quick Stop

These days, we rarely carry cash. With a credit card or mobile payment, you can pretty much go anywhere — or so I thought. But on our recent trip to Everland, I learned the hard way that there’s one place where cash is still king: Gamepia.

Gamepia is an indoor arcade located inside Everland. It’s filled with fun games like claw machines, air hockey, and racing games. It's the perfect spot for kids to enjoy a break from rides — especially when the lines are long or the weather isn't great.

The problem? Most of the machines only take coins.
And to get those coins, you have to use a coin exchange machine — which only accepts cash.
No cards. No mobile payment. Just plain old bills.

When we walked in, my kid spotted a claw machine and got all excited. But I reached into my wallet… and realized I didn’t have a single bill. Not even one. We ended up leaving without playing anything, and honestly, I felt a bit guilty watching him look so disappointed. Since then, I always bring some cash when we go to Everland — usually ₩5,000 to ₩10,000 (around $4–$8 USD) in ₩1,000 notes. That’s enough for several games, and it saves us from any unexpected letdowns.

It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference.

While most places in Everland are cashless and super convenient, Gamepia is the one spot where you’ll definitely need actual money. So before you go, tuck a few small bills into your wallet — your future self (and your kid) will thank you!
